You should see the other guy

Maddox had a little run in with the sidewalk.

Chava's photo shoot

Sometimes I really could just eat her up.

It looks cute, but....

That little blob on his left cheek is actually a booger he picked out of his nose and smeared on his cheek.

Thanks to Bobby Boo

Bob taught Maddox how to stick those whirlygig things to his nose a couple weeks back... thank god they are drying up because when they fall off, M has a real hissy fit!

But mom is never beneath looking like a fool.
Today was a beautiful, sunny morning in our kitchen. Chava slept through and so did Maddox, and we all woke up in a good mood.

Why else do you have a coffee table?

Maddox has also started to drive his trains over EVERYTHING... all body parts are fair game. As well as Chava's head.

You be the judge

A few days ago, I was trying to get a sweatshirt on Maddox. A big draw for him is anything that used to be Eli's - cool beyond words. So I said, "Hey, Maddox, let's put on this great doggy sweatshirt. It used to be Eli's!" Maddox started to whine and wail (increasingly common and annoying behavior these days) and said, "No No NO!" I couldn't really understand the resistance as it's actually a cozy fleece sweatshirt, so I was trying to determine the problem. Finally, through his tears, Maddox was able to communicate, "That's NOT a dog. It's a PIG!"

I'm falling behind

I'm way behind (like a week) in posting. I have no excuse but I'll give you a bunch of them anyway:
  1. I've been sick for two weeks.
  2. Maddox has been sick since Friday.
  3. Chava still gets up 2-3 times a night.
  4. Our home computer has given up the Internet for lent.

Sunday

So, it was something like the 179th day of rain in a row. We broke out some toys we had been keeping "for a rainy day" (the marble run Maddox is playing with) as well as a crate of baby toys that I put away when Maddox was about 1 1/2. It's amazing to see how much he still likes playing with those toys... although he uses them in very different ways now (for instance, the drum sticks are just perfect for drumming on your sister).

Saturday

Saturday mornign was Maddox's last swimming lesson for a while. Al tried to initiate him in to the club of "wearing your suit like an old man at the shvitz" but Maddox is too smart for that.

I took this picture to show that Chava really does have curly hair (this was right after a bath!). We'll have to see if the attitudes and personalities portrayed here really play out. I do think that Maddox is just beginning to realize that having a sister around ALL the time can sometimes be a pain in the tush.

More movies

Sorry these are so dark... good think Chava is wearing bright yellow.

Also, you think Maddox is much of a camera hog or what?

Chava plays

Maddox needs to ....

Sorry for the blackout

Still without usable internet connection at home.

But here's a shot of Chava getting some love from the boys to hold you over.

Saturday

We don't need any stinking paternity tests - the way Maddox watches t.v. (slackjawed and mezmerized) is proof enough.

But that's nothing. The big news on Saturday was the CIRCUS (of which I got no photos). Here is the important stuff:

Taking the train was almost as exciting as everything else.

I wanted to take a picture of everything Grumpaw and Nonna bought to eat but it just came so fast and furious, I couldn't keep up. They were very generous and let Maddox devour the entire box of popcorn all by himself, though.

Maddox loved the circus and when he woke up on Sunday and we asked what he would like to do, he replied, "Go to the circus!" I think it's better left as a yearly event.

Friday

You can thank RCN and their terrible service for the lack of posts - our internet has been virtually unusable since Thursday night. But that didn't stop us - NO! We forged ahead and did something crazy - fun outside.

Maddox and I did an art project (which really just evolved in to him squirting water) while Chava napped (!!!) and we waited for Grammy and Bob to arrive.

Humor

On Monday night, Al went to the Red Sox game so I was on my own. When Chava fell asleep during the 3 minute ride from daycare to home, I suggested to Maddox that we go to McDonalds and get him a hamburger for dinner. "No," he replied, "I don't want to go to Old MacDonalds. I want a hamburger at home." He's only been to McDonalds once, when he was about 15 months, and I don't think he had any clue what he was passing up. So, we went home and I cooked. Last night, as soon as we got in the car he said, "Mommy, let's go to E-I-E-I-O and get a hamburger and french fries."

Not many pictures this last couple of days - mornings have been too chaotic. Last night I was up every hour (on the half hour) starting at 1:30. Thank god Al was still up at 11:30 to give Chava a bottle so that I got one solid four hour chunk of sleep.

The girl has got some serious cheekage, no?!

I have a new and heightened fear of Chava launching herself right off the table.

Public Service Announcement

This really is just a photo blog, and I'll post more pictures tonight. But anyone who hasn't seen Stephen Colbert's bit from the White House Correspondents' Dinner should check it out here and then ask yourself why there has been no mention of this gutsy maneuver in the press.
